Apple crumble is also a hit with apple pie spice! To do this, peel and core 5 apples, cut into thin slices, mix with lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice and place in a quiche dish. Mix 120 g soft butter with 120 g sugar and 1 teaspoon apple pie spice. Then knead with 200 g flour and spread in coarse crumbles over the apples. Bake at 190 degrees (fan oven) for approx. 25 - 30 mins. A scoop of vanilla ice cream goes well with it.Â
By the way: For a delicious apple pie, it's best to choose slightly tart cooking apples such as Elstar, Boskop, Idared, Jonagold or Cox Orange, which provide a gentle freshness.
