Description

To easily prepare your own Tandoori Chicken at home, mix 100 g of Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon of oil and 1.5 teaspoons of Tandoori Chicken seasoning. For a good taste, marinate chicken breast strips in it for 2 hours. In the meantime, sauté the onions until translucent and then caramelize with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Since Tandoori dishes are known for their striking red color, you now provide a mixture of 2 tsp Tandoori Chicken seasoning and 2 tbsp tomato paste not only for a great look, but also for a pleasant fruity note. To do this, add 2 tsp. tandoori chicken seasoning and 2 tbsp. tomato paste. Quickly deglaze the whole thing with 200 ml of chopped tomatoes and 75 ml of water before you let the dish simmer for another 20 minutes. Now it's the marinated chicken's turn again and it's cooked in the oven at 200 degrees (convection oven) for 20 minutes. Finally, add the meat to the sauce and let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. By the way, traditionally the Tandoori Chicken is served with rice.

By the way, a traditional tandoori oven is a kind of cylindrical barrel made of clay. The temperature in a tandoori oven can reach up to 480 degrees Celsius - really hot! This requires long stoking, which is why many restaurants fire their ovens around the clock.
