The Mediterranean culinary herb with its strong, hearty, slightly tart aroma spices up Mediterranean dishes in particular and is slightly reminiscent of marjoram. It belongs to the classic bouquet garni as well as to the fines herbes from French cuisine and is indispensable with garlic, olives, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers or even courgette. Our tip: Its strong flavour develops most strongly at high temperatures, so add it during the cooking process and cook it along with the soup!
