There are simply days when you want to stay in bed. Or on the sofa. Snuggled up thick with a warm blanket. And a good book. What is missing then? The right soul food! And what would be better than homemade waffles? Nothing so quickly! Whether Belgian or heart-shaped is up to you, because with both variants the scent alone makes your mouth water. Even better than one, two or three waffles? A whole waffle tower with fruity cream filling! And in the unlikely event that waffles are left, they can be frozen very well! Oh yes, just real collector’s items!
For 2 waffle towers:
- 4 whisked eggs
- 200g sugar
- 200g room temperature butter
- 1 pack of vanilla sugar
- 1 small shot of rum
- 400g of flour
- 250ml milk
- 150 ml cream
- 1/2 pack baking powder
Mix the whisked eggs with the sugar and margarine until a frothy dough is formed. Now add the vanilla sugar and the dash of real rum. Add the flour and baking powder and stir, this makes the dough a little sticky. Finally, gradually stir in the milk and cream and stir until the dough has a smooth and soft consistency.
For the whipped cream:
- 250 ml whipped cream or curd yoghurt mixture as a lighter alternative
- Young Kitchen Fruit Berry Mix
- 4 teaspoons of sugar
Mix 150 ml whipped cream with 2 tsp Young Kitchen Fruit Berry Mix and 2 tsp sugar and put the pink whipped cream in a bowl. Mix the remaining 100 ml whipped cream with 3 tsp Young Kitchen Fruit Berry Mix and 2 tsp sugar and add the pink whipped cream to another bowl.
Now bake the waffles and, after cooling, coat the layers alternately with the different whipped cream colors. Pick up 1 blob and place it on the middle of the last waffle. A little fruit powder and blossom magic as a topping on top, the fruity waffle room with addiction is ready.
