In the Rhineland you are an absolute must at carnival time and, like Berliners, you can find them at almost every bakery. The recipes always differ slightly from region to region. They are available with filling, without filling and in different forms. We have tidied up our hats a little with edible glitter to match the 5th season. So you don’t just make children’s eyes shine. The recipe is super simple and thanks to the edible glitter it is also an absolute eye-catcher at every carnival party.
Ingredients:
- 250 g flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
- 1 pack of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- a little vanilla sugar
- a little Young Kitchen Sweet Tonka Kiss
- 1/8 l milk
- Edible glitter
- Oil for baking
Preparation:
Flour, eggs Put the baking powder, vanilla sugar, salt, Sweet Tonka Kiss and milk in a mixing bowl and use a whisk to make a semi-solid dough. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Cut out a small round pancake from the dough with a cold teaspoon and bake in the fat until golden brown. It is important that you do not put too many in the pot at once. Sprinkle the finished hats with powdered sugar and glitter and serve.
