If life gives you oranges …

Whether pure, in fruit salad or as juice – oranges are not only known as true vitamin bombs, but also a real mood enhancer in winter. Their pleasantly sour flesh enchants all kinds of desserts such as delicious panna cotta, creamy mousse, fresh quark dishes or warm casseroles as well as numerous hearty dishes with shrimp, couscous or even chicken and duck. However, they are particularly outstanding, especially in cakes. The orange delicacies not only provide a certain freshness kick, but also make the cake incomparably juicy. No more things at home and no longer want to go shopping? Perfect, because that’s not necessary here. Our cake idea comes with only 6 ingredients, which can usually be found anywhere in the pantry without any problems. So put it in your favorite apron and you can start baking.

  •  Organic oranges with a not too thick skin (less bitter substances)
  •  4 eggs

Put the whole oranges (yes, WITH a peel) in a saucepan with boiling water and let them cook on the stove for about 2 hours. Then puree in the food processor. Beat the eggs until frothy, carefully add the almonds, powdered sugar, punch spice, pureed oranges and baking powder. Pour the dough into a 20-22 cm springform pan and bake at 190 degrees for about 30 minutes.
