After we devoted ourselves to ginger last week, today is all about the gold and yellow superfood turmeric.
Turmeric is also known as Indian saffron and has been used in Indian and Chinese medicine for thousands of years. There are numerous studies on the golden yellow superhero. Turmeric contains the bitter substance curcumin and is responsible for the typical yellow color of the plant. This can, for example, stimulate the production of bile juice. A main component of turmeric is curcumin, which has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect on the body. Like a pain reliever, only without the annoying side effects. This miracle root not only helps with inflammation, colds, fever, diarrhea, stomach pain, bronchitis and much more. but can also have a positive impact on the course of depression.
For the perfect start to the day, we recommend golden milk from our Young Kitchen line. Golden milk or also known as “turmeric latte” is considered a particularly stimulating, cleansing and healing drink in Ayurvedic teaching.
Simply boil a teaspoon of Young Kitchen Golden Milk with a tablespoon of water until a paste has formed. Then add ½ cup of milk and heat everything for about two minutes. Then froth the drink with a milk frother. Bottom up!
