In Anbetracht der sehr schwierigen Marktsituation und insbesondere der damit im Zusammenhang stehenden k\u00fcrzlichen Umweltkatastrophe im Hauptanbaugebiet Madagaskar, m\u00f6chten wir euch nochmal ausf\u00fchrlich zum Thema Verf\u00fcgbarkeit der Vanilleschote informieren. Denn beim Handel mit Naturprodukten stellen wir uns der t\u00e4glichen Herausforderung ein gutes Produkt, in angemessener Menge, zu guten Preisen zu liefern. Seit inzwischen 2 bis 3 Jahren wird diese Herausforderung bei der Vanilleschote zunehmend schwieriger.<\/p>\n

Vanille stammt vor allem von der Insel Madagaskar sowie den anderen umliegenden Inseln z.B. Reunion, Komoren etc.. Vanille die aus dieser Region stammt darf auch als sog. Bourbon<\/i> Vanille bezeichnet werden \u2013 die Namensgebung geht zur\u00fcck auf die damalige Bezeichnung der Insel Reunion. Diese hie\u00df damals n\u00e4mlich \u201eBourbon\u201c! Au\u00dferdem wird Vanille im \u00e4hnlichen Breitengrad auch in anderen Regionen angebaut z.B. in der Karibik, Afrika und auch in Indonesien. Diese Vanille darf dann allerdings nicht mehr als \u201eBourbon\u201c Vanille tituliert werden.<\/p>\n

In den vergangenen Jahren ist die weltweite Nachfrage kontinuierlich gestiegen, was bei ca. gleichbleibender bzw. r\u00fcckl\u00e4ufiger Ernte zu einer deutlichen Verknappung auf dem Weltmarkt und damit zu steigenden Preisen gef\u00fchrt hatte. Hinzu kommt, dass die Bauern in Madagaskar, welche in der Regel in Form von Bauerncooperativen ihr \u201eSt\u00fcck\u201c Land bewirtschaften und nat\u00fcrlich das Maximum daraus erwirtschaften wollen, die Vanillepfl\u00e4nzchen in den letzten Jahren stark \u00fcbererntet haben, was zu geringeren Ernteertr\u00e4gen gef\u00fchrt hat. Das hei\u00dft die Vanille wurde in den vergangenen Jahren h\u00e4ufig zu fr\u00fch geerntet, um diese schnell \u201ezu Geld\u201c zu machen, mit dem Ergebnis einer unzureichenden Qualit\u00e4t (zu hohe Restfeuchte, zu geringe Reife) und einer \u00dcberbeanspruchung der Vanillepflanzen. Das hat die Verknappung in der Folge verst\u00e4rkt und zu weiter steigenden Preisen gef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n

Schlie\u00dflich haben Naturkatastrophen in den letzten Jahren die Plantagen in Madagaskar dramatisch besch\u00e4digt. Eine der schlimmsten D\u00fcrren seit Jahrzehnten war das Wetterph\u00e4nomen El Nino im vergangenen Jahr 2016. Folgenschwer und noch dramatisch der Zyklon \u201eEnawo\u201c im M\u00e4rz diesen Jahres, welcher ganze Vanilleplantagen auf Madagaskar regelrecht davon gefegt hat. F\u00fcr die Bev\u00f6lkerung Madagaskars, neben vielen Toten und Betroffenen, auch eine katastrophale wirtschaftliche Entwicklung. Das hat ganz aktuell den Vanillepreis und die Verf\u00fcgbarkeit drastisch erh\u00f6ht bzw. eingeschr\u00e4nkt.<\/p>\n

Ein weiterer wesentlicher Faktor im Gew\u00fcrzsektor allgemein und in diesem Fall auch in der Vanillebeschaffung, sind die drastischen W\u00e4hrungsschwankungen auf dem Weltmarkt. Vanille, wie auch die meisten anderen Gew\u00fcrze, werden ausschlie\u00dflich in Dollar gehandelt. D.h. in den letzten Jahren ist der Vanillepreis nur wegen dem schwachen Euro um ca. 40% gestiegen.<\/p>\n

Im Augenblick geht es f\u00fcr uns als nationalen Gew\u00fcrzanbieter, welcher den Lebensmitteleinzelhandel bundesweit mit Gew\u00fcrzen und nat\u00fcrlich auch Vanille versorgt nicht darum einen guten Vanillepreis im Einkauf zu erzielen, sondern lediglich darum, qualitativ ordentliche Vanille \u00fcberhaupt beschaffen und unseren Kunden und Endverbrauchern anbieten zu k\u00f6nnen. Der Markt ist regelrecht ausverkauft. Verschlimmert wird das ganze nun durch Rohstoffspekulanten, welche diese Situation nutzen und hier auch mitverdienen wollen.<\/p>\n

Der Vanillepreis hat sich dadurch in Summe im Einkauf um ein Vielfaches erh\u00f6ht! Das f\u00fchrt f\u00fcr den Endverbraucher dazu, dass die Preise f\u00fcr die schwarzen Vanilleschoten, sofern diese \u00fcberhaupt verf\u00fcgbar sind, drastisch gestiegen sind und derzeit im Supermarkt f\u00fcr ca. 4 bis 7 Euro pro St\u00fcck angeboten werden – Tendenz steigend! Vor ca. 2 Jahren lag der Endverbraucherpreis noch zw. 1,5 und 3 Euro. Gleiches gilt nat\u00fcrlich f\u00fcr die \u00f6rtlichen Eisdielen, welche das beliebte Vanille Eis nicht mehr lange zu dem \u00fcblichen Preisgef\u00fcge anbieten k\u00f6nnen, sofern man weiterhin echte Vanille bzw. echtes Vanillepulver einsetzt und nicht auf den viel g\u00fcnstigeren Aromenstoff Vanillin ausweicht.<\/p>\n
